After much planning and fundraising, Groovetrail’s Gift of Music Program has launched! This spring, Groovetrail will be sending talented local musicians into schools and care facilities throughout the Flathead Valley. Already the program is off to a great start. Earlier this month, flautist Rebecca Nelson teamed up with Groovetrail founder Erica von Kleist on a flute clinic and performance for students at Whitefish Middle School. Guitarist Colton Christensen shared also shared his talents by performing for the residents of the Brendan House in Kalispell. Eric Michael Krop visited the Glacier High School Choir program and shared with them his experience on Broadway, as well as tips and techniques that helped students with their upcoming Broadway Review concert.
On March 8th, cellist Lee Zimmerman will perform for residents of Whitefish Care and Rehab, and on St. Patrick’s day guitarist Merle Robinson will perform there as well. All residents and their guests are welcome to attend these performances. Eric Krop will also be revisiting Glacier High School for another workshop with their choirs, and Erica von Kleist will be a guest at the Bigfork High School Career Day on March 9th.
There will be more performances and workshops planned throughout the spring, so check back again soon!
